Rachel Lyon- why i love my media

media is so broad and such a vast number of different aspects of my generations life along with everyone else now a days, because if it’s not, you get left behind. for me, i use my media to stay in touch with others. as everyone seems to be running around and being involved in numerous activities (because it’ll look good on your resume) there isn’t much time to actually see people unless they are in those activities with you. so, while going from one meeting to the next you take your media device, connect with those who you miss, have something to say to, or are making plans for later. always on a mission and always doing something is how i would describe my life. when i use my media, though, i can do two or more things at once. i can do my work and connect with my friends or family who aren’t necessarily with me, physically.

growing up i went to summer camp and through that i made a lot of friends who didn’t live anywhere near me. in order to stay connected with them i use my phone to call/text/bbm/mms/tweet/fb etc… with. somehow, after 3 years of not seeing some of my camp friends im still very close with them, thanks to media devices.

overall, i love my media because it makes it possible for me to stay connected with those whom i care about but can’t necessarily spend time with whether its because my schedule is too busy on any given day, or because they live miles from me. i absolutely LOVE my media!
