The Media and a Long-Lost Friend Brooke Scanlon

The media brings us together and connects us with old friends and new ones. When I was in fifth grade, my family went on vacation to a resort in Florida. I met a boy named Joseph and we became instant friends. We spent a lot of time together and had so much fun. Once the vacation ended, we became pen pals and we wrote to each other for a while. When I got older, I tried to find him on google or Facebook. I was never able to find him. A few months ago, he added me on Facebook. He found an old letter I wrote him that had my full name on it. We have been reconnecting and talking ever since. Without the media, this would never have happened because he lives a thousand miles away and our paths would probably never cross. The media brings us together, for better and for worse, and makes connecting with friends, old and new, possible.
