Why I respect media

To be honest I would lie if I say that I love the media. In fact, I feel a bit intimidated by it’s tendency to blur our perception of realness.During the course, we discussed whether there is such thing as a real world and I kept thinking how can we say that the nature, for example, is fake or our emotions. The media and all technological inventions are just reflection of the real world and a striving to make our lives easier. It’s true that today we have GPS to navigate us, multiple translators, apps for every single need we have and etc. they are truly helpful but are they really making it easy for us?My answer would be definitely yes in this world driven by media and technology. However, not long ago I talked with my mother and I told her that I blame media for the fact I am so far from home and worried about such irrelevant things and I want it to be like the days before media existed. She responded me that in the past people’s life was not easy at all, they didn’t have weather forecast or the knowledge for everything that is so easily accessible to us now. They were only dependent on hope and luck, pretty simple indeed but not easy at all.So why I RESPECT media is that it eases us and keeps us informed.
