Why I Heart My Media

i love media because the possibilities are endless. there are so many things we can learn from one another through the internet and the ways of learning became easier as media progressed. i get really inspired as i look at people’s work on websites like pinterest, filckr, ffffound, etc. and its always fun to see how people present themselves through online profiles whether they’re real or not.

I heart media because it gives everyone the opportunity to create something that might outlast one’s own life. “Life is short, art is long.”-Darius Frobisher
Creating media can bring people closer together to work collaboratively and enthusiastically. Hitrecord.org is a great example of people all over the world doing this. Normally, working together with various people from all over the world would not be an easy task, but the internet(media) makes the process simple.

I love media because I was able to do this assignment on the bus on my phone. It makes things in life seem more convenient and we have multiple ways to access the information we need. It allows us to keep up with news, friends, family, trends etc. and without that the progression of society would be a slow process.

I ❤ my media because it keeps me in touch with the world,friends, and family even if I am not physically there. Everything around us involves media so it is kind of hard to get away, therefore you begin to grow love for it and sometimes you can't seem to stay away from it.

I love media because it allows us to perpetuate real messages that will create real change under our own control.  True Democracy.  No corporation controls the Internet.

I love media because it allows me to stay in touch with so many people i would not be able to otherwise.

I love my media because it brings me and my buddies together through football without making us be in the same room.  With the new craze, fantasy football, we are able to monitor the NFL and have friendly competition by simply logging on to a computer from anywhere in the world.  It is male bonding without having to move more than a mouse.

Media is used every day. It is a great way to reconnect or stay connected with friends and family. I love using media because some of my friends and family live far away and with media such as Skype, cell phones and Facebook I can stay in touch with them and they make my day. They know what to say when I need some one to make me smile.

there is no reason to question the fact that our generation has become very intimate with our media.  not only do we consider our cell phones as lifelines, but we use them as well as other media technologies as the primary outlet for communication.  for example, i just wrote a “happy birthday” post on my friend’s facebook wall.  i will not be seeing her or speaking to her today because she lives in another town, but this simple post on her facebook wall is enough in our current society even on such a special occasion.  another example is how many personal conversations we have nowadays using our media technologies.   Whether it’s on the phone: either speaking or just text messaging, or even on social networking sites such as facebook, our lives happen here- through our media.  how can anyone argue against that intimacy?

I heart media because it allows me to stay in touch with my friends that are at school throughout the country, gives me picture updates of my dog, and tells me where I need to go and how much time it takes to get there.
