Why I Heart My Media

What I love about media isn’t the fact that we can show our social status or that we can maintain our social contacts. We can do that in real life. But what I do love is falling into a rabbit hole when you are browsing on YouTube. Ever been on YouTube with the thought of only watching one video because it went viral and ending up a few hours later at an oysteropening video? Well, I did… “But the pearls are so pretty!” The variaty of videos that you will come across in a few hours is incredible and you’ll probably learn something too! So please jump in this rabbit hole and fall away, while I get back to a DIY curling without heat video.

I love media because we can interact with many people in the world and share together our information. With this, we can make new friendships and live the life that we are living now. Many people love it to post their stuff that they find in internet, pictures that they make, videos, etc. Here we can see that people is happy to share their interest publicly in their social media. In the present days, media is all around the world and we can see it everyday in every corner. Thats why I love media.

These days, I can’t go through the day without catching a glimp of media. When I wake up, the first thing I do is check my phone to see if I got any messages, E-mails or other notifications from my social media accounts. And at the end of the day, most of the time I find myself in bed, watching Netflix or search for music on Spotify. Basically I wake up and go to sleep with it, but why is media so important to me these days?

Media is for me important to not only keep in touch with my friends and family, it also gives me acces to wide my network and knowledge. For example, last summer I traveled in Thailand for a month, over there I met so many new people from all over the world. Media provides me to keep in touch with them, through social media I planned my next trip with a few people I met during my holiday. It’s great that there is a way to stay connected with the world through shared messages, pictures or stories.

I heart media because I basically can’t live without it anymore, that why it’s so important to me. Through media I can stay connected with friends, manage my business and school stuff and it keeps me updated from news all over the world.

I heart my media because my media hearts me back. There are so many chances that your work will get recognised through them and get the attention it deserves. Young artists, models, activists, stylists, fashion bloggers, writers etc usually do not have the connections and the money for this. The reason ‘Why I Heart Media’ is simply because of the accessibility of it. For instance, media has everything. Media has an immeasurable amount of information such as books and films. Social media (e.g. Facebook,Twitter) itself has become a source of news for the younger generation, as people are able to spread awareness by sharing images or videos and keep up to date with certain conflicts which mainstream newspapers or news channels choose not to present. Furthermore, due to media there is an increase of people who are able to teach themselves new skills by just watching a YouTube video. Lastly, it is because I am able to stay in contact with my friends and family who live further away. 

Because it offers you a glimpse in the lives of people all over the world. You are not limited to your own neighborhood or country anymore.
