I tried to find a definition of what media means to me, and I realised one thing: I do not know the deeper meaning of this term. We are aware that it is useful to communicate, to be informed, etc.., but what is the broader signification? I do not have an answer to that, even though my connection with this certain word started a long time ago, only from September I began to see media from a different point of view, more specific and interesting. In conclusion, it is too soon for me to have a response to that massive question, except for mentioning media things of common knowledge. I attempted to describe my perspective on this topic, and a comparison came up to my mind: “Media is like love. You could live without it, but it would be a boring and lonely existence.”.
Why do I love my media?
There is no simple answer to that question, if you ask me. The way I feel about media is like a love/hate relationship:
A part of me passionately hates media. That part of me would rather rid itself of any form of media than participate and give in to it. I hate how we can’t live private lives anymore, I hate how media have become such a massive, inescapable force in our daily lives.
But then there’s that other part of me. The part that knows I can’t live without media, either. Because I can express myself through media. I can share my interests, important milestones and much more with my friends on the other side of the planet. Friends that I made through media. I wouldn’t be who I am without media, because media have helped shape a part of me. That’s why, in the end, I do love media. I love media because I am media, and I love who I am.

My digital utopia
I know birds and bees
And magnificent trees
I have seen them on TV
I have climbed mountains
Despite my fear of heights
And have also mastered digital tides
There is nothing I don’t know
And nowhere I can’t go
There is nothing I need
Besides my 24/7 live feed
I have met some women
The greatest ones I’ve ever seen
Sitting inside my computer screen
And my conversations are special
Intelligent and profound
Now that I don’t need to make a sound
There is nothing left to lose
And everything left to gain
There is nothing left untold
In my digital utopian world

Why I respect media
To be honest I would lie if I say that I love the media. In fact, I feel a bit intimidated by it’s tendency to blur our perception of realness.During the course, we discussed whether there is such thing as a real world and I kept thinking how can we say that the nature, for example, is fake or our emotions. The media and all technological inventions are just reflection of the real world and a striving to make our lives easier. It’s true that today we have GPS to navigate us, multiple translators, apps for every single need we have and etc. they are truly helpful but are they really making it easy for us?My answer would be definitely yes in this world driven by media and technology. However, not long ago I talked with my mother and I told her that I blame media for the fact I am so far from home and worried about such irrelevant things and I want it to be like the days before media existed. She responded me that in the past people’s life was not easy at all, they didn’t have weather forecast or the knowledge for everything that is so easily accessible to us now. They were only dependent on hope and luck, pretty simple indeed but not easy at all.So why I RESPECT media is that it eases us and keeps us informed.

Why I Heart Media
There are a lot of reasons as to why I love media, but it all boils down being connected to people. This includes being able to text friends and meet up with them, checking out events that you might want to attend, sharing music that you like with other people, ordering clothes or food, looking at memes or just finding a cool/useful website.
I love being able to wake up in the morning and finding out what happened in the world in less than a couple of seconds. I love having a piece of technology in my pocket on which I can keep in contact with people, listen to music, watch movies or videos, take pictures or videos and listen to even more music.
Sites like YouTube and Reddit have content for every niche you could think of. My media give me the opportunity to find things that I like. And I like that 😀

Also, there’s this:

WHY I HEART MY MEDIA
Memory.
Directly from Latin, “memoria “: memory, remembrance, faculty of remembering.
I think memories are the greatest things we own. They are what make a person feel alive throughout his (or her) entire lifetime. Media are the means which make this possible.
There’s no better way to mantain a memory fresh than sharing it with the people you love the most.

Me(dia) Myself and I
Heart: the center of the total personality, especially with reference to intuition, feeling or emotion. (taken from a random appealing online dictionary.com)
Do I have to go any further with this answer? I thought this sounded fancy enough.
All right, let’s admit it. I do not only heart my media, I truly stomach them, I completely live(r) them, I feet-ure them in everything that I do.
Oh, and my actual heart beats, right? Well then since I heart them, I guess I’ll beat them too – did you say heart Media or hurt Media?
Ok, you see, I just complained about Media through Media itself. Nice way of losing a couple of minutes of my very extra super busy daily life.
I guess I’ll stop typing now, I don’t have time for this “hearting my media” thing – I must definitely absolutely immediately check my Instagram, sorry. It was nice being here though. (being who? here where? dude, are you serious?)

Why I Love My Media: Reasons Why.
Why I love my media
Regarding the subject of the enjoyment of media, the love I produce regarding media in my current situation comes through two separate formats. Firstly, the practical use of social media, and secondly, through consuming and sharing entertainment media, such as television and film.
To begin, I strongly love my social media, for it allows me to regenerate and strengthen my social relationships across the world, at any point in time, in any location. Through applications such as Facebook or Instagram, I am able to stay in touch with close friends from across the globe, which is very critical in my life for I have lived in many different places and spawned various strong relationships in such places; which naturally can not be supported in person historically. Whilst in historical periods of time people could not maintain long-distance relationships outside mediums such as the postal service, my social media allows me to connect to a friend from halfway across the globe at the instantaneous click of a button, and to check up on their life and health at any moment. As a very sociable person, I naturally love my friends, therefore I love my social media for allowing my friendships to bolster despite distance.
Secondly, I have love for my media in regards to my personal consumption of entertainment at any point. In a similar vein to my reasons for loving social media, modern applications such as Netflix or Hulu allow me to access hundreds of my favorite TV-shows at any moment, without taking up precious physical storage space. This also comes with a financial advantage, as one subscription can replace the purchases of many DVD’s, as I had previously done growing up. Some of my favorite shows, such as South Park, offer episodes for free online as soon as they are released, which is perfect for myself. As my schedule is unpredictable and changes on a daily basis, on-demand content allows me to see my favorite shows at times convenient for me, instead of having to stay at home following a TV schedule and changing other plans in hopes of not missing out.
In conclusion, I love my media for the instantaneous access that it currently offers, and the ability to get what I desire without a large amount of complications. Modern applications support my lifestyle, which is not rooted in one specific country or location, or at any particular time.

The reason why I heart Media is especially the possibility to communicate and connect with other people for instance over distance and international borders. What would we do if there were no networks, webs and apps? I am convinced that it is part of all our lives and we wouldn’t want to miss it. It already starts in the morning, when looking at the mobile phone is part of waking up. Also during the day we always share and report what we are doing and were we are. I think it’s amazing to be able to let important people take part of what I’m doing no matter if they are far away or not. The fact that media has no barriers and people from all over the world can be and stay in contact encourages social contacts and relationships. For me, the luxury to catch anybody wherever and whenever I want and stay informed on the newest happenings is the main reason why I heart media. Jula Ammon
Why I Heart My Media
I love my media, because it allows me to share the photographs I make while travelling or in my daily life. Without Instagram, I probably wouldn’t share my photographs with anyone but my family. On Instagram my friends in real life can see them, but also people I know through or only on Instagram and even total strangers. I like sharing my experiences through these visuals, because for me a picture is worth a thousand words.
